The Congregation was formed prior to 1688 but, in 1830, some of the congregation broke away to join the Remonstrant Synod, which was the forerunner of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church. The congregation who remained loyal to Reformed faith built the present meeting house in 1831, which was further extended in the early 1880’s
