Church History

There has been no church in this parish in centuries. The original parish church would have stood in what is now O'Brennan Cemetery.

O'Brennan forms part of the Roman Catholic parish of Ballymacelligott. Church of Ireland parishioners worshipped in Tralee and the parish was formally united to Tralee in 1873.

Civil Registration

For civil registration purposes electoral divisions rather than civil parishes are used. The entire parish forms part of O'Brennan Electoral Division which also includes townlands from the parish of Ballymacelligott. The electoral district is included in Tralee No.1 Registrar's District and Tralee Superintendent Registrar's District.

Scans of entries in the civil registers of births from 1864 to 1920; marriages from 1845 to 1945 and deaths from 1871 to 1970 are available to search and download on the Irish Government's Irish Genealogy website.
