The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Clonmore contained the following places:

"CLONMORE, a parish in the barony of Iverk, in the county of Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles to the S.E. of Piltown, its post town. The parish is bordered on the N. by the river Suir, and is traversed by the road from Carsick-on-Suir to Waterford. It contains the hamlets of Clonmore and Skelpstown. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ossory, value with Ballytarsey, £224, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was built by the late Board of First Fruits in 1817. Clonmore was formerly a seat of the bishops of Ossory."
