"Famma", or Famagh Church, a parish, in the barony of Gowran, county of Kilkenny, and province of Leinster, 1 mile (S. S. E.) from Thomastown, on the road to Innistiogue; containing 128 inhabitants, and comprising 623 statute acres, It is a vicarage, in the diocese of Ossory, forming part of the union of Thomastown; the rectory is impropriate in the Marquess of Ormonde. In the R. C. divisions the parish also it is part of the union or district of Thomastown. Brownsbarn is the residence of John Nixon, Esq.
