In 1868, the parish of Jerpoint Church contained the following places:

"JERPOINT CHURCH, (or Jerpoint-east), a parish in the barony of Knocktopher, in the county of Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 1½ mile on the road between Thomas town, its post town, and Waterford. It is bounded by the river Nore on the N.E., and contains the village of Stonyford. Limestone and lead have been discovered in the parish. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin, in the patronage of the crown. There is a Roman Catholic chapel at Kilmanogue, and four days-schools, but no church. In the vicinity are the ruins of two churches. The principal residences are Mount-Juliet (the seat of the Earl of Carrick), Floodhall, and Jerpoint House.

"STONYFORD, a post-office village in the parishes of Ennisnag and Jerpoint church, baronies of Shillelogher and Knocktopher, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 8 miles S. of Kilkenny, and 77 from Dublin. There is a police station. Petty sessions are held at intervals. There are a Roman Catholic chapel, a dispensary, and a fever hospital."
