The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilferagh contained the following places:

"KILFERAGH, (or Kilfearow), a parish in the barony of Shillelogher, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.E. of Kilkenny, its post town. It lies along the right bank of the river Nore. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Ossory, value with Burnchurch, £700, in the patronage of the crown. Kilferagh is the principal residence.
