The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilmacar contained the following places:

"KILMACAR, (or Kilmocar), a parish in the barony of Fassadinin, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.W. of Castlecomer. Kilkenny is its post town. The parish is 2 miles long by 1½ mile broad. The surface is for the most part in tillage or in pasture. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ossory, value £14. There are two day schools. Bleachfield is the principal residence.
