The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Sheffin contained the following places:"SHEFFIN, a parish in the baronies of Galmoy and Crannagh, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles N.N.W. of Freshford. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ossory, value with Aghouse, £704, in the patronage of the bishop. Lodgepark is the principal seat in the vicinity."
