"WOODSTOCK CASTLE, a demesne of county Kilkenny, Ireland, near Athy. It is an ancient seat of the O'Moores of Leix, situated on the river Barrow, and is now in ruins. It was originally built by a descendant of the Earl of Pembroke, towards the close of the 13th century, and was taken by storm by O'Neil in 1647."
