The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Clonshire contained the following places:

"CLONSHIRE, (or Clounshire), a parish and village in the barony of Lower Connello, in the county of Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 1 mile S.W. of Adare. The parish consists of good land, and is traversed by the road from Tralee to Limerick. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Limerick, value with Rathkeale, £1,027, in the patronage of the bishop. Clonshire House is the chief residence. The ruins of a castle may be seen near the village.
