The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Dunmoylan contained the following places:

"DUNMOYLAN, a parish in the barony of Shanid, in the county of Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 9 miles S.W. of Askeaton. Youghal is its post town. It lies on the road from Limerick to Tarbet. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Limerick, value with Castlerobert, £141, in the patronage of the Earl of Cork. There are ruins of the old church and of a tower or fort."
