The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Dysert contained the following places:

"DYSERT, (or Carrigeen), a parish in the barony of Coshma, in the county of Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Adare. It lies on the river Maigue, and has a good soil. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Limerick, value £54, in the patronage of the bishop. There are ruins of the old church, and of a round tower 50 feet high, which has an arched doorway and pointed windows.
