The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilbeheny contained the following places:

"KILBEHENY, a parish in the barony of Cochlea, county Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 9 miles S.E. of Kilfinnane. Mitchellstown is its post town. The greater part of its boundary is described by the river Puncheon. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Emley, value £320, in the patronage of the bishop. There are two Roman Catholic chapels, and two day schools. Galtee Lodge is the beautiful seat of the Earl of Kingston.
