The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Killeenagarriff contained the following places:

"KILLEENAGARRIFF, (or Kilnegaruff), a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, county Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles S. E. of Castleconnell, its post town. The parish is 4 miles long by 2 broad. The surface, which consists for the most part of good soil, is drained by the Mulkern river. The road from Limerick to Dublin traverses the interior. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Killaloe, value with Stradbally, £406, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is in ruins. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Castleconnell. There are two National and a private day school in the parish. Part of the demesne of Mount Shannon is within the hamlet
