The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilmurry contained the following places:

"KILMURRY, a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, county Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles E. of Limerick, its post town. It is 2 miles square. The surface lies at the confluence of the Shannon and the Mulkern. It is traversed by the road from Limerick and Dublin. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Limerick, value £313, in the patronage of the crown. The late Board of First Fruits granted a loan for the building of the church in 1812. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of St. Patrick's. There are a Roman Catholic Sunday-school and three day schools. Troy Castle belongs to the O'Briens."
