The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballinchalla contained the following places:

"BALLINCHALLA, a parish in the barony of Ross, county of Galway, and in the barony of Kilmaine, county of Mayo, in the province of Connaught, Ireland, 4 miles to the S. of Ballinrobe. It is situated on the eastern shore of Lough Mask. The living is a rectory, united with that of Kilmolara, in the diocese of Tuam, Killaloe, and Achonry.
