The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kildacommoge contained the following places:

"KILDACOMMOGE, a parish in the baronies of Carra and Gallen, county Mayo, province of Connaught, Ireland, 6 miles N.E. of Castlebar, its post town. The parish is in three detached portions, lying close together, and measuring in the whole 4½ miles long by 4 broad. The surface lies principally within the valley of the Castlebar river. It is hilly, and includes the skirts of Spullagadon and Slieve-Corm hills. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Tuam, value with Castlebar, £614, in the patronage of the bishop. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Furlough. There are two day schools.
