The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilvine contained the following places:

"KILVINE, a parish and village in the barony of Clanmorris, county Mayo, province of Connaught, Ireland, 7 miles S.E. of Clare. It is 3¼ miles long by 2½ broad. The surface is boggy. The Dalgan stream flows within a short distance. The interior is crossed by the road from Tuam to Ballyhaunis. The living is a lapsed rectory and vicarage in the diocese of Tuam, in the patronage of the bishop. There is a day school. Rockfort is the principal residence."
