The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballynakill contained the following places:

"BALLYNAKILL, a parish in the barony of Coolestown, in King's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles from Edenderry. It is situated on the Grand canal. The land is good and well cultivated. There is much bog, and limestone is quarried in the parish. The living is a vicarage united with the rectory of Clonsast, in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare."
