The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Clonyhurk contained the following places:

"CLONYHURK, (or Clonechorke, or Clonechurch), a parish in the barony of Upper Philipstown, in King's County, province of Leinster, Ireland. The parish is situated on the river Barrow. It contains the post town of Portarlington, and the Grand canal passes within a short distance. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Kildare, value with Geashill, £1,126, in the patronage of Earl Digby. The chapel was built by the late Board of First Fruits in 1827. The surrounding residences are Garryhinch, Barrowbank, Clonehorke, Bonfield, and Killeen.
