The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Finglas contained the following places:

"FINGLAS, a parish in the barony of Clonlisk, King's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles N.E. of Moneygall. Roscrea is its post town. The parish lies at the foot of the Bendubh Mountain, which divides King's County from Tipperary. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Killaloe, value with Dunkerrin £773, in the patronage of the bishop. In the Roman Catholic arrangement, the parish is part of the Moneygall district."
