The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilclonfert contained the following places:

"KILCLONFERT, a parish in the barony of Lower Philipstown, King's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles N.W. of Philipstown, its post town. The parish is 7 miles long by 3 broad. It lies near the course of the Grand canal. There is a good deal of bog. The living is a suspended rectory in the diocese of Kildare, in the patronage of the crown. The church is in ruins. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Philipstown. There are public, private, and Sunday schools. Kilduff, Clonearl and Mount Briscoe are the principal mansions."
