The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilcomin contained the following places:

"KILCOMIN, a parish in the barony of Clonlisk, King's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, near Shinrone, its post town. It is 3 miles long and near 2 broad. The little Brosna passes through the parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Killaloe, value with Shinrone, £487, in the patronage of the bishop. Here are a day and a Sunday school. Oakwood, Rutland, and Glass, are the principal residences. The site now occupied by the hamlet is the alleged site of a religious establishment founded in the 7th century by St. Cumin.
