The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Roscomroe contained the following places:

"ROSCOMROE, a parish in the barony of Ballybritt, King's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, 6 miles S.E. of Parsonstown. Birr is its post town. The Slieve Bloom mountains rise towards the eastern boundary, and the road from Roscrea to Tullamore passes through the parish. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Killaloe, value with Kinnetty £231, in the patronage of the bishop. It is joined to Kinnetty in the Roman Catholic arrangement."
