The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Castleconor contained the following places:

"CASTLECONOR, a parish in the barony of Tireragh, in the county of Sligo, province of Connaught, Ireland, 5 miles to the N.E. of Ballina. It lies in a fertile country on the river Moy, and includes a large tract of bog. Limestone is quarried extensively. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Tuam, Killala, and Achonry, value with that of Kilglass united, £440, in the patronage of the bishop. There is a dispensary in the village. The residences of the gentry are Castle-Connor House, Moyview, Seaville, &c. By the river-side are some ruins of an old castle. In the vicinity are several Danish forts.

"CORBALLY, a village in the parish of Castleconor, barony of Tireragh, in the county of Sligo, province of Connaught, Ireland, 4 miles N.E. of Ballina. Besides the above there are numerous seats and small hamlets of this name in almost every part of Ireland."
