The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ardcrony contained the following places:

"ARDCRONY, a parish in the barony of Lower Ormond, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles to the S. of Borrisokane. Lough Derg is about 8 miles to the W. of this parish. The soil is generally light. Limestone is obtained in abundance, and there are some small tracts of bog. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Killaloe, Kilfenora, Clonfert, and Kilinacduagh, value £68 in the patronage of the bishop. There are ruins of the old church on a hill near the road, and of a castle at Ballyluskey, and remains of a fort at Beechwood. The principal seats are Beech-wood, formerly the residence of the Earl of Norbury, Mount Falcon, Conger House, &c.
