The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballintemple contained the following places:

"BALLINTEMPLE, a parish in the barony of Lower Kilnamanagh, in the county of Tipperary, 7 miles to the N.E. of Tipperary. In this parish is Dundrum House, the seat of Viscount Hawarden. The demesne contains above 2,000 acres, and is finely wooded. The living is a rectory, of the value, with several others annexed to it, of £629, in the diocese of Casliel, Emly, Waterford, and Lismore."

"DUNDRUM, a village in the parish of Ballintemple, barony of Lower Kilnamanagh, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 7 miles N.E. of Tipperary. It is a station on the Great Southern and Western railway. Dundrum House is the seat of Viscount Hawarden."
