The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballygibbon contained the following places:

"BALLYGIBBON, a parish in the barony of Upper Ormond, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 6 miles to the N.E. of Nenagh. A large extent of bog is included in the parish, and there is abundance of limestone. The living is a rectory united with that of Ballymackey, in the diocese of Killaloe, Kilfenora, Clonfert, and Kilmacduagh. The chief residences are Ballygibbon House and Glenahilty Castle."
