The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Ballysheehan contained the following places:"BALLYSHEEHAN, a parish in the barony of Middlethird, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles to the N. of Cashel. It is in a pleasant district on the east bank of the river Suir. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Cashel, Emly, Waterford, and Lismore, value £140, in the gift of the bishop. There is a Roman Catholic chapel and a police station. Fairs are held on the 6th May, the 15th August, and the 5th December."
