The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Burgesbeg contained the following places:"BURGESBEG, (or Burgess), a parish in the barony of Owney and Arra, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles to the S.W. of Nenagh. The living is a rectory united with that of Castletownarra, in the diocese of Killaloe, Kilfenora, Clonfert, and Kilmaeduagh. The church is decayed.
