The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Cullenwaine contained the following places:"CULLENWAINE, a parish partly in the barony of Clonlisk, in King's County, and partly in the barony of Ikerrin, in the county of Tipperary, province of Leinster, Ireland. It is situated on the road from Dublin to Limerick, and contains the post town of Moneygall. Much bog occurs within the limits of the parish. The living is a rectory in the dioc, of Killaloe, value with Templeharry, £299, in the patronage of the bishop. There is a Roman Catholic chapel at Moneygall, united to that of Dunkerrin. There is a free school for girls, a school supported by the rector, and one private school. The chief seats in the neighbourhood are Greenhills, Silverhills, and Rathenny. A fair is held on the 20th August and 11th November."
