In 1868, the parish of Dogstown contained the following places:

"DOGSTOWN, a parish in the barony of Middlethird, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles S. of Cashel. Cahir is its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cashel, value with Knockgraffon, £616, in the patronage of the Marquis of Ormonde. The Roman Catholic chapel here is united to that of Knockgraffon.
