The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilfithmone contained the following places:

"KILFITHMONE, (or Fithmone), a parish in the barony of Eliogarty, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 7 miles N.E. of Thurles. Borrisoleagh is its post town. It is 1½ mile long by 1 broad. The soil is generally good. The interior is traversed by the road from Templemore to Borrisoleagh. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cashel, value with two others, £275, in the patronage of the bishop. Fithmoyne is the principal residence. The church was built in 1832, by means of a loan from the late Board of First Fruits. There is a day school.
