The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilgrant contained the following places:

"KILGRANT, (or Powerstown), a parish in the baronies of Iffa and Offa East, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles N. E. of Clonmel, its post town. It is 2 miles long by the same in breadth. The surface, which lies within the valley of the river Suir, is very fertile. It is crossed by the road from Clonmel to Waterford. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lismore, value with Kilcash, £49, in the patronage of the crown. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Kilcash and Kilsheelan. Annerville is the principal residence.
