The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Latteragh contained the following places:

"LATTERAGH, a parish in the barony of Upper Ormond, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles S. of Toomyvard. Nenagh is its post town. It is 3 miles long by 2½ broad at the widest. The surface is elevated, and rises near the centre of the parish to the height of 1,257 feet above sea-level. The soil is of various qualities. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Killaloe, value £122, in the patronage of the bishop. Here are two private day schools. Latteragh House is the principal seat. It is the alleged site of a monastery, a great seat of learning, presided over by St. Odran, who died in the middle of the 6th century."
