The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Outeragh contained the following places:

"OUTERAGH, a parish in the barony of Middlethird, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles N.N.E. of Cahir, its post town. It is intersected by the road from Cahir to Cashel, and consists of a good soil and pasture lands. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lismore, value with Mortlestown, £209, in the patronage of the bishop. The nearest church is at New Inn. There is a school. Oughteragh House is the chief seat.
