In 1868, the parish of Railstown contained the following places:"RAILSTOWN, a parish in the barony of Middlethird, county Tipperary, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Cashel. The parish is small, and wholly agricultural. The land is chiefly arable. The living is a rectory united with Fethard.
