The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Rathlynin contained the following places:

"RATHLYNIN, a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles N.E. of Tipperary, its post town. The surface consists generally of a good soil. It is intersected by the road from Tipperary to Thurles, and by the river Multeen. The living is a vicarage and rectory in the diocese of Cashel, value with Ballintemple, £590, in the patronage of the bishop. Lacken and Mountwilliam are the principal residences. There is a police station.
