The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Shronell contained the following places:

"SHRONELL, a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles S.W. of Tipperary, its post town. The greater part of the surface is arable land of medium quality. The living is a rectory and vicarage in the diocese of Emly, value £106, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was built in 1808, and the tower was subsequently added by means of a loan from the late Board of First Fruits."
