The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Templeree contained the following places:

"TEMPLEREE, a parish in the barony of Ikerrin, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles E. of Templemore, its post town. The surface consists of good soil, with some bog. The river Suir passes near the limits of the parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cashel, value £155, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is in ruins. The principal seat is Castle Eeny."
