The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Templetouhy contained the following places:

"TEMPLETOUHY, a parish and post town in the baronies of Eliogarty and Ikerrin, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles E. of Templemore. The surface consists of a well-cultivated soil, with some extent of bog. The parish is crossed by the road from Johnstown to Kilkenny. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cashel, value £606, in the patronage of the archbishop. There are a Roman Catholic chapel, and four public schools. The chief residences are Cranagh and Long Orchard. Here is a dispensary. The remains of several old castles are visible.
