The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Carrick contained the following places:

"CARRICK, a parish in the barony of Fartullagh, in the county of Westmeath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 6 miles to the S. of Mullingar. It lies on the S. shore of Lough Ennel. The living is a rectory united with that of Moylisker, in the diocese of Meath. The principal seats are Carrick House and Rochfort, the latter the residence of Sir F. Hopkins, Bart. In the parish are various remains of antiquity consisting of forts, a castle, and a church."
