The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Moylisker contained the following places:

"MOYLISKER, a parish in the barony of Fartullagh, county Westmeath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles S. of Mullingar, its post town. It is 2½ miles long, and its extreme breadth is 1½ mile. The surface consists of parts of the shore of Lough Ennel. The soil is rich. The parish is crossed by the road from Mullingar to Tyrrels-Pass. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Meath, value with others, £286, in the patronage of the crown. The church, which is an ancient structure, was enlarged in 1807. There is a Roman Catholic chapel, and three day schools. Belvedere is the seat of Lord Lanesborough. Here are ruins of a castle and raths. Petty sessions are held in the village."
