In 1868, the parish of Ardamine contained the following places:

"ARDAMINE, a parish in the barony of Ballaghkeen, in the county of Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles to the S.E. of Gorey. It is situated on the coast of St. George's Channel, and comprises the village of River Chapel. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin, value with the perpetual curacy of Killenagh, £32. A fishery in the bay of Ardamine gives employment to some of the inhabitants. Ardamine House is the principal residence. Near it is a very perfect tumulus called the moat of Ardamine, and conjectured to be a Danish monument or tomb."

"COURTOWN, a small seaport in the barony of Gorey, in the county of Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of the town of Gorey. It is situated at the upper part of Kilbride Bay, near the village of River-chapel. A convenient harbour and pier have been formed. In the neighbourhood is the neat of the Earl of Courtown, who is proprietor of the estate. In 1798 this mansion was attacked and sustained considerable damage from a company of the rebels."

"RIVER CHAPEL, a village in the barony of Ballaghkeen, county Wexford, Ireland, 4 miles S.E. of Gorey, and 6 S.E. of Enniscorthy, on the river Aughboy."
