In 1868, the parish of Kilcowanmore contained the following places:

"KILCOWANMORE, a parish in the barony of Bantry, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 6 miles S.W. of Enniscorthy. Taghmon is its post town. The surface consists of part of the Boro Valley. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Ferns, value with Owenduff, £92. Here is a day school."
