The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Killiane contained the following places:

"KILLIANE, a parish in the barony of Forth, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles S. of Wexford, its post town. It is not quite 1 mile in length, and the same in breadth. The surface lies along the W. side of Wexford Harbour, and is crossed by the road from Wexford to St. Margaret's. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Ferns, value with Killinick, £310, in the patronage of the crown and bishop. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Piercestown. There is a day school. Killiane Castle is the principal residence."
