The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilnahue contained the following places:

"KILNAHUE, a parish in the barony of Gorey, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles W.N.W. of Gorey, its post town. It is 6 miles long by 3 broad. The surface is mountainous. Mount Annagh on the N. attains an altitude of 1,498 feet. The river Bann flows through the southern portion of the parish, which is also traversed by the road from Gorey to Carnew. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Ferns, value £95, in the patronage of the Dean of Ferns. Kilnahue House is one of several residences.

"MONYSEED, a hamlet in the parish of Kilnahue, barony of Gore, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 6 miles W.N.W. of Gorey. Monyseed House is the principal residence."
