In 1868, the parish of Ladys Island contained the following places:

"LADY'S ISLAND, (or St. Mary's), a parish in the barony of Forth, county Wexford province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles S.E. of Killinick. Broadway is its post town. The parish is of small extent, but the soil is good. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Ferns, value with St. Iberius, £47, in the patronage of the bishop. There are a Roman Catholic chapel and a parish school. On a peninsula running into Lady Island Lough stand some old church ruins. Here are also the remains of a castle, built in the 13th century by Rodolph de Lamport, and dismantled by Cromwell in 1649. Fairs are held on the 15th August, and 19th September.
