The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Templescoby contained the following places:

"TEMPLESCOBY, a parish in the barony of Bantry, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles W.S.W. of Enniscorthy, its post town. The surface consists of a fair soil, with a little bog. The parish is, crossed by the road from Enniscorthy to New Ross, and the river Urrin traverses its northern limits. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ferns, value £125, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was erected in 1817 by means of a gift from the late Board of First Fruits. In the Roman Catholic arrangement this parish is united to that of Davidstown. There are two private schools. The chief residences are Dunsinane, Verona, and Clohass. There are quarries of stone and clay.
