In 1868, the parish of Ballinacor contained the following places:

"BALLINACOR, a parish in the barony of South Ballinacor, in the county of Wicklow, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles to the W. of Rathdrum. It is situated in a mountainous district on the river Avonbeg, and is crossed by the military road. The principal residence is Ballinacor, the seat of W. Kemmis, Esq. The mansion is built on the slope of a hill, commanding a fine prospect along the valley. Fairs are held here in February, May, August, and November."
